How to organise a nice community evening at WohnenPlusBasel:
Recipe:
- Choose a day with good, warm weather
- Keep it simple by telling people to bring their own food
- Announce it a few days beforehand on our new website
- Make clear that everybody is welcome and no inscription is needed … just show up if you want
- Find some great allies who help it along such as
- Claude to post the announcement on the new website and staff the grill
- Ingrid to help him set up the grill
- Monique and Markus for brainstorming and some preparation work
- Spontaneous volunteers doing most of the cleaning up
- Sit wherever you like, talk in whichever language you want, eat as much as you can
In short:
We had a nice, easy-going barbecue evening on the 11th of June 2025 with a turnout of more than 25 people, residents. Our nice terrace on the 5th floor of the Schiff was full but there was space for everybody. The evening ended late with the most faithful participants admiring the rising “strawberry”-moon.
